Engines
We have two Volvo D1-30s with saildrives. Fuel tanks are under the foredeck with a ‘FilterBoss’ fuel cleaning system in the engine bays. Are engines are just narrow enough to fit through the corridor doors and be retro mounted underneath the bunks.

Furnishing.
Our saloon floor is an industrial flooring from Mannington, set with contact adhesive. In the corridors and cabins we will use loose carpet.
In the galley we have a SMEV oven and hob. We also have a detachable barbacue which will sit on the back rail.
The fridge/freezer was built from scratch. Components from Frigomatic with a vacuum lid ‘off the shelf’. We have about 15cm of insulation (builders foam sheets) and as it is a top loader we are hoping our power consumption will be moderate.

Electrical
This is one area where my lack of experience led to a few misjudgements. I had simply not realised how thick and heavy 12v cables are so had not made nearly enough allowance for the ducting that would be required around the boat. I had also not realised how big the electrical cabinet would need to be with the result that we had to keep changing/extending it requiring a lot of extra joinery work.
We got an electrical contractor in to wire up our panel and while we did most of the basic wiring ourselves.
Our house battery bank is Ni-cads with a couple of car batteries for the engines.
